Studio

Main Room  -  25’ x 12’

With its wooden walls and floor the main room is a live sounding space.  It is large enough to accommodate many musicians, and to my ears the room sound is desirable.  With its 12’ ceiling the room can take a lot of sound without getting saturated.  Drums sound nice with the space to breathe.

I also use the kitchen and cubby by the bathroom for additional isolation for guitar amplifiers.

Control Room  -  8’ x 12’

Everything that leaves the studio comes through here.  Not large enough for a posse!  There are speakers out in the live room for this purpose.

Vocal Booth  -  10’ x 8’

We use this space for whatever need the most isolation when recording, be it a double bass, sax, accordion or vocals.  With the large window to the control room and the glass double doors to the main room there is good line of sight visibility.  The booth is big enough to record a drumkit, but since drums sound good in the main room I haven’t had much reason to do it.  However, when you don’t want any room put it in the booth!
